accident victims. But most of us do not know about their charitable
work. For several years they have been deeply involved with ending
illiteracy in South Florida and the rest of the country, with 411-Pain
and scholastic campaigns. 1-800-411-Pain
Scholastic Read and Rise Literacy Campaign, is a campaign to bring
awareness of this increasing epidemic. 1-800-411-Pain has partnered with
Scholastic Book Fairs and Clear Channel Radio, to do their part in raising awareness, getting
kids interested in reading, as well as raising funds at book fairs, so
every child attending the fair, receives a $5.00 Reading Certificate.
Allowing the child to shop for their own books at their school's
Scholastic Read and Rise Book Fairs. Not only are kids getting excited
about reading, but reading is becoming a great family activity.
At 1-800-411-PAIN, we are proud to be part of the Scholastic Read and
Rise program. Not only helping our community, but to bring national
attention to this problem. Due to major education budget cuts, more and
more programs like these are desperately needed. There are many schools,
in the South Florida area, that no longer have the funds needed to
purchase books themselves. Our goal, this school year, is to provide
books for over 25,000 students benefit directly from this program.
